Etymology: “Coven” — from Old French covent, from Latin conventus: “a coming together, an assembly.” Same root as “convent.” A gathering of people bound by shared oath, shared secrecy, and shared consequence.

There’s an old idea in esoteric tradition:
When a working no longer has power, the practitioners panic. They repeat the ritual more intensely. They blame the target for resisting. They turn on each other. They exhaust themselves trying to stop someone whose only crime is refusing to fall.
Sound familiar?
LAYER 1 — THE SURFACE: WHAT EVERYONE CAN SEE
Jeffrey Epstein ran a sex trafficking network. He’s dead. Ghislaine Maxwell is in prison, serving 20 years. The files have been released — over three million pages. The story is over. Right?
That’s what the surface looks like.
That’s what they’re paying enormous energy to make you believe.
But here’s the tell: if the story were actually over, why are four names on the co-conspirator list still redacted?
In July 2019, the day after Epstein was arrested, the FBI sent an internal email with the subject line: “Co-conspirators.” It listed 10 people investigators wanted to contact. We now know four of the names: Ghislaine Maxwell. Les Wexner. Lesley Groff. Jean-Luc Brunel (dead, awaiting trial on a rape charge).
Four names remain blacked out in 2026.
The Epstein Files Transparency Act — passed with bipartisan support, signed into law November 2025 — explicitly states that no record shall be withheld on the basis of “embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary.”
The law is clear. The redactions remain. That’s not a bureaucratic error. That’s a choice.
Meanwhile, approximately 100 survivors had their names, passports, and driver’s licences accidentally exposed in the document releases. The DOJ used a PDF conversion method that allowed anyone to simply copy-paste supposedly “redacted” text and read the names underneath.
Survivors: exposed by mistake. Co-conspirators: protected by design.
This is not irony. This is the architecture made visible.
LAYER 2 — THE BLIND SPOT: WHAT YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO CONNECT
Most coverage treats the Epstein story as a scandal — a bad man who did bad things and got away with it for a while.
That’s the wrong frame. Epstein wasn’t a scandal. He was infrastructure.
Let’s follow the wire.
The Lineage Nobody Mentions in the Same Breath
Robert Maxwell — Ghislaine’s father — was a British media baron widely reported to have worked with Israeli intelligence (Mossad). He died in 1991 under mysterious circumstances; he was given a state funeral in Israel attended by six serving and former heads of Israeli intelligence. Before his death, he had distributed PROMIS software — a U.S. government programme with a backdoor built in — to intelligence agencies around the world. The backdoor allowed covert surveillance of whoever used it.
That’s the 1980s version of what Palantir does today.
Jeffrey Epstein — introduced into elite circles through the Maxwell family — built his wealth almost entirely through one man: Les Wexner, the Victoria’s Secret billionaire, now officially named as a co-conspirator in the 2019 FBI email. Wexner gave Epstein power of attorney, gifted him a $77 million Manhattan townhouse, and was the primary source of his wealth for decades.
Peter Thiel — co-founder of Palantir Technologies — corresponded with Epstein in over 2,200 emails and messages between 2014 and 2019. That’s after Epstein’s 2008 conviction as a registered sex offender. Epstein invested approximately $40 million into Thiel’s Valar Ventures fund. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak described Valar Ventures as “co-owned by Peter Thiel and JE.”
Thiel’s spokesperson disputes the word “co-owner” while confirming Epstein was a limited partner.
In 2018, Epstein and Barak jointly pitched an Israeli surveillance tech firm — then called “Reporty,” later renamed Carbyne — to Valar Ventures. Thiel’s other fund, Founders Fund, then invested in Carbyne.
Palantir now holds over £670 million in UK government contracts — NHS patient records, Ministry of Defence operations, police intelligence databases, nuclear weapons systems. In the United States, Palantir’s ImmigrationOS is the engine running ICE deportation operations. Its Maven AI system runs targeting intelligence for U.S. military operations in the Persian Gulf.
The wire: PROMIS (1980s) → Maxwell → Epstein → Thiel → Valar → Palantir → your government’s data.
Same function. Different generation. Different branding.
The UK Thread They’re Really Not Joining
Here’s what’s barely making headlines outside Britain:
Peter Mandelson — former UK Trade Secretary, Labour grandee, appointed British Ambassador to the US in December 2024 — founded the lobbying firm Global Counsel. Global Counsel counts Palantir among its clients. Mandelson personally called the Palantir deal his “personal pride and joy.”
In February 2025, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited Palantir’s offices in Washington DC. With Mandelson at his side.
The Epstein files show Mandelson was a contact of Epstein’s during the same period Epstein was an active Valar Ventures partner. The Metropolitan Police are now investigating Mandelson for allegedly leaking market-sensitive UK government secrets.
In January 2025, UK Security Vetting recommended against granting Mandelson full security clearance. The Foreign Office overruled that recommendation. He was confirmed as Ambassador anyway.
Now connect the three points: Epstein → Thiel/Valar → Palantir → Mandelson/Global Counsel → Starmer → UK government data infrastructure.
The coven has an Atlantic branch.
The Intelligence Layer Everyone Dances Around
Former MI6 head of the Russia desk Christopher Steele stated publicly in February 2026 that U.S. sources had tracked Epstein’s activities “back to the 1970s.” He described the operation as resembling a classic kompromat structure — photographing powerful men in compromising situations, recording the evidence, and exploiting it for leverage.
The three main theories of who Epstein worked for: Mossad. CIA. Both. Nobody is ruling any of them out. The Acosta admission — that he was told Epstein “belonged to intelligence” and to leave it alone — remains on record, contested but undeniable.
One analyst described it with forensic precision: “Epstein’s network was not a personal indulgence operation. It was an intelligence operation, run by multiple services and against targets across multiple Western governments and institutions. The function was kompromat. The product was leverage.”
LAYER 3 — THE REFRAME: WHAT QUESTION SHOULD YOU ACTUALLY BE ASKING?
Not: Who went to the island?
Not: Did Trump know? Did Clinton know?
The real question is this:
What happens to the leverage when the leverage-holder dies?
Epstein is dead. But the photos, the videos, the recordings — where are they? The 2000 videos in the January 2026 release. The footage Bannon shot in 2019 that was never released. The material that law enforcement agencies from multiple countries have reportedly seen and not acted on.
Kompromat doesn’t disappear when the handler dies. It gets inherited.
Whoever holds it now holds the same power Epstein held. And the behaviour we’re watching — four names still redacted, survivors exposed while co-conspirators are protected, a surveillance infrastructure woven through governments on both sides of the Atlantic — suggests that whoever inherited the leverage is still using it.
This is why the ritual keeps failing.
You cannot perform a working against someone who is outside the system your working runs on.
Every independent journalist, every anonymous researcher, every citizen who reads three million pages and connects the dots — they don’t have careers to threaten, reputations inside the network to destroy, or secrets that can be weaponized. The nine of pentacles dynamic is literal: self-sovereignty is the only protection that actually works.
The coven is exhausted because they built a machine for controlling people who need something from the machine. And increasingly, more people don’t.
THE FACTS, NO SPIN
10 FBI co-conspirators identified in 2019. Four named publicly. Four still redacted as of June 2026.
3+ million pages released January 2026. Less than 1% released before pressure from Massie and Khanna.
~100 survivors outed through DOJ’s technical failures. Co-conspirator names remain blacked out.
Epstein in Thiel’s name 2,200 times across released files. Relationship continued 11 years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction.
$40M from Epstein → Valar Ventures. Now worth approximately $170M.
Palantir: £670M UK contracts covering NHS, Ministry of Defence, police, nuclear weapons.
Mandelson: lobbied for Palantir → appointed UK Ambassador despite failed security vetting → under Met Police investigation.
Zero arrests in the US. The UK has made arrests. Congressman Massie noted this with barely concealed irony on the BBC.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem — Emirati businessman — named by Ro Khanna in February 2026 as one of the six names he could identify after viewing unredacted files. His name had been redacted in public releases.
THE ABSURDIST SKETCH
(In the tradition of Monty Python’s Flying Circus)
Scene: A wood-panelled boardroom. Twelve powerful men in expensive suits sit around an enormous table. A small cauldron bubbles in the centre. They are performing a ritual.
MAN IN SUIT #1: Right. We’ve done the ritual forty-seven times now. Why isn’t it working?
MAN IN SUIT #2: I think we need more secrecy. Redact the secrecy.
MAN IN SUIT #3: We’ve redacted the secrecy. We’ve redacted the redactions.
MAN IN SUIT #4: (checking phone) Bad news. A journalist in Sweden with no institutional backing just connected all the dots on a free blog.
MAN IN SUIT #1: What? How? We own the newspapers!
MAN IN SUIT #4: He doesn’t read the newspapers.
MAN IN SUIT #2: Can we threaten his career?
MAN IN SUIT #3: He’s freelance.
MAN IN SUIT #2: His pension?
MAN IN SUIT #3: He’s independent.
MAN IN SUIT #1: (long pause) What does he want?
MAN IN SUIT #4: Apparently... nothing from us.
(Silence. The cauldron sputters out.)
MAN IN SUIT #1: ...This is the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me.
THE GRANDMOTHER’S ALGORITHM
Pay attention. Do your best. Pay it forward.
Paying attention means reading past the headline. The story is not “Epstein was bad.” The story is: a parallel system of power operated through leverage and secrecy, it is woven into the surveillance infrastructure that runs your government’s data right now, and the people who built it are still building it.
Doing your best means sharing this. Talking about it. Refusing to let it collapse into “conspiracy theory” because that is precisely the language designed to stop you from asking the next question.
Paying it forward means protecting the nine of pentacles energy in your community — the independent voices, the self-funded journalists, the people who don’t need permission to tell the truth.
The coven loses its power the moment enough people simply stop needing what it offers.
